Training in Iten | Athens Marathon Greek Championship Target: 2:14:59

Hannover Marathon 2025: 2:28:51, 36th overall.

Now? Athens Marathon November 9th, 2025. Goal: Win Greek Championship in 2:14:59.

I moved to Iten because it's greatest place in world for anyone who wants to become champion in distance running. Altitude here extremely high—around 2,400 meters—forces body to adapt, work harder, unlock new level aerobic power that directly translates to dominant performances at sea level. Weather perfect year-round. Soft, endless red dirt roads gentle on body, allowing high mileage without injury.

Most powerful factor isn't environment—it's the people. I'm training every day alongside greatest runners on planet. Their presence pushes me, challenges me, inspires me to raise standards. Every session becomes race. Every race makes me stronger. Life here simple. Food healthy, distractions few, lifestyle built around discipline. Everything revolves around what truly matters: train well, recover well, become best version of yourself.

I have detailed race pace plan to reach finish in 2:14:59. ENGO crucial for hitting correct paces each kilometer, especially as Athens course profile varies. I'll use ENGO to simulate Athens course in training, particularly during long runs. First half: need to stay locked into sub-3:11/km pace. ENGO helps me maintain that rhythm on Tambach Stadium's flat surface. Then comes 12km uphill stretch from Tambach to Iten—need to hold between 3:11/km and 3:24/km depending on gradient. ENGO vital here for pacing accuracy.

Athens finishes with fast downhill section requiring about 3:03/km. Again, ENGO essential both in training and race, allowing me to run freely without constantly checking watch. I'll simulate this descent during sessions from Iten to Kessup. ENGO amazing for speed-work and long runs—I like keeping head up, checking I'm hitting correct paces.

Helps me go faster. No more losing seconds looking at watch. I have constant view of pace to stay focused to target. If you really want to hit fastest paces your body capable of, ENGO is must-have. Training in Iten with best runners in world, using ENGO to execute precise pace strategy—this is how I'm preparing to win Athens Marathon Greek Championship. 2:14:59. November 9th. Watch.

Everything runners ask, answered.

Will I even notice a difference?

The engo3 uses fixed tinted lenses (category 3), perfect for very sunny conditions. The engo3 Photochromic features photochromic lenses that automatically adapt to light levels (cat. 0 to 3), making it ideal for changing light conditions.
