engo3 Kenya: The Limited Edition with Amadeus Clements

Sommaire

Iten sits at 2,400 meters in Kenya's Rift Valley, on a stretch of red dirt road that has produced more world-class marathoners than entire countries. It is not a marketing location. It is where the discipline that defines distance running was built, one dawn session at a time, for decades. It is also where our engo3 Kenya was born, not in a design studio, but on the training log of one of our own athletes.

engo3 Kenya is a limited edition of our flagship AR running glasses, released on August 4, 2026, and it carries a story most limited editions do not: it is not inspired by a place we visited once for a photoshoot. It is inspired by a place one of our athletes has been living and training in since May 2025.

The athlete behind the edition

Amadeus Clements is a marathoner sponsored by engo and the holder of a Greek national record. In 2025, after working his way back from injury, he made a decision that a lot of athletes talk about and very few actually do: he moved to Iten to train alongside some of the best marathon runners in the world, ahead of his build toward the 2026 Athens Marathon. His time there has been documented for our community in the "Road to Athens" series.

Clements described what training in Iten does to a runner's relationship with data:

“These glasses let me see my training data right in front of my eyes at every stride, without ever losing rhythm with the runners around me.”

Amadeus Clements, engo-sponsored marathoner

That line is the whole brief for this edition. In Iten, you do not train alone, and you do not train with your head down. Groups of twenty or thirty runners move together at paces most of us associate with a 5K finish, and glancing at a wrist during a session is how you get dropped. The engo3 Kenya exists because Clements needed his pace, heart rate, and power in his line of sight, not on his wrist, while running shoulder to shoulder with the fastest training partners on earth.

A design built from the ground up, literally

The engo3 Kenya is instantly recognizable: a red lens mask paired with black temples. Nothing about that color story is decorative. It is a direct translation of Iten itself, the beaten red earth of the training routes, the black of pre-dawn sessions that start before the sun clears the escarpment, and the discipline culture that turned this small town into the undisputed birthplace of modern marathon running.

It is a limited edition in the true sense: available exclusively through engoeyewear.com, priced at €349.95, and not positioned to stay in the catalog indefinitely. It is a tribute edition first, a product second.

What is actually inside the frame

Strip away the colorway and the engo3 Kenya runs on the same platform we built for every serious runner and cyclist who has ever wanted their watch data without ever taking their eyes off the road:

A high-brightness, multi-color OLED display with red-to-green zone coding, so you can read your effort at a glance instead of parsing numbers mid-stride.

40+ customizable data fields through the engo companion app, with up to 6 fields visible on screen at once.

Structured workout support synced from Garmin: intervals, pace targets, and zone gauges appear directly in the lens as the workout plays out, no watch glances required.

Compatibility with 81+ Garmin devices, Apple Watch (watchOS 10.1+), and Suunto.

20+ hours of battery life on a single charge.

A weight of just 38.5 grams, lighter than most standard sport sunglasses.

IP55 water and sweat resistance, built for the conditions a real training block throws at you.

An adjustable silicone nose bridge and temples, so the fit holds through a 30K long run the same way it does on mile one.

Why this matters beyond one pair of glasses

We did not build the engo3 Kenya to sell a color. We built it because a runner on our own team went and did the thing the rest of the sport only talks about, moved to where the best in the world train, and came back telling us that seeing his data without breaking stride made a measurable difference in how he trained with that group. That is the entire premise engo was founded on: the right information, in your line of sight, at the exact moment you need it, without ever asking you to look away from the run in front of you.

Iten did not need engo3 to prove itself as the capital of marathon running. But it gave us the clearest example yet of why real-time data belongs in front of your eyes, not on your wrist.

Get it while it lasts

engo3 Kenya is available now, exclusively at engoeyewear.com, for €349.95. Like every limited edition, once this run is gone, it is gone.

Everything runners ask, answered.

Will I even notice a difference?

The engo3 uses fixed tinted lenses (category 3), perfect for very sunny conditions. The engo3 Photochromic features photochromic lenses that automatically adapt to light levels (cat. 0 to 3), making it ideal for changing light conditions.
